The Honan Chapel - Gallery Collection
| Image Title | Honan Chapel: detail of the base of the font |
| Description | Baptism is the sacrament by which the Christian enters into the sacramental life of the church. This is why the font is placed at the main door. It is made of a marble pillar supporting cupped hands. Rev. Fr. Gearóid Ó Suilleabháin, as college chaplain and Dean of the Honan Chapel, played a central role, with the Governors of the Honan, in commissioning new liturgical art for the refurbished space. These included the baptismal font at the entrance to the chapel designed by Imogen Stuart and installed in November 1996. |
