| Image Title | Honan Chapel: detail of arcading in the sanctuary |
| Description | An arcade, series of arches supported by columns or piers. An arcade may stand free; if it is attached to a wall it is called a wall arcade or a blind arcade. It is a feature of Hiberno-Romanesque architecture. The design features a zig-zag motif called a chevron. This blind arcade in the chancel casts reflections thrown by the coloured glass of Harry Clarke´s window of St. Joseph on the south side of the sanctuary. |
