| Description | Green is the colour of hope. Green is used in the Offices and Masses of Ordinary Time. This image shows a back view. This chasuble is made from silk and wool poplin. There are Y-shaped orphreys front and back infilled with elaborate animal interlace embroidery. At the centre is Christ´s monogram, IHS. Notice the crest of the Honan Chapel and Hostel. This item has been catalogued by Virginia Teehan & Elizabeth Wincott Heckett in The Honan Chapel: A Golden Vision published by Cork University Press in 2004. The vestments are in storage and are in need of conservation. |
