About Resource Booker

Resource Booker, replacing ‘Web Room Bookings’, is a web application allowing UCC staff & students to make ad-hoc room bookings. Rooms are available for booking between 8am and 10pm each day. Rooms will be available to book until the beginning of August 2020. Information about AV equipment in each room is available in the system.

  • Exceed the maximum capacity of a room

1. How do I access Resource Booker?

You can access Resource Booker via https://www.ucc.ie/en/build/roombookings/resource-booker/. To enter the system, you simply enter your username (this is your UCC email address) & password that you use to log onto your PC.

2. Can I access Resource Booker outside the UCC network?

Yes, Resource Booker can be accessed within and outside the UCC network on all browsers.

3. Can I access Resource Booker on my mobile device?

Yes, Resource Booker is available from any PC or mobile device using any browser.

4. I am having trouble logging into Resource Booker - Who should I contact?

Email roombookings@ucc.ie in the event of any issues in logging in to Resource Booker.

2. How do I make a recurring booking?

In the 'Make a Booking' screen under 'Refine Search' make sure to select the 'Recurring' icon, this will allow you to make upto 6 bookings at the one time.

3. How can I view my bookings?

Your bookings will appear in the My bookings screen in a calendar view. This calendar view can also be viewed in day, week, month or list view. Click on an event in the calendar to view the booking details. You can edit or cancel bookings using the buttons at the bottom of the booking details window.

The Notifications screen contains a log of all notifications you have received through Resource Booker. These are filtered into various categories at the top of the screen. You can view a list of all your bookings under 'Accepted' in this section.

1. What is ‘Capacity’?

‘Capacity’ refers to the number of people a room can hold. For Health & safety reasons it is important that you do not exceed the capacity of a room when making a booking. If you are unsure of the capacity of a room, please see Room Capacities section.

2. How can I see more information about a room?

In the ‘Make a Booking’ screen in Resource Booker - If you want further details about an available room, Click on the information icon which appears after each room name.

3. How do I ensure the room I book is accessable?

In the 'Make a Booking' screen, under 'Refine Search' you have the option to select wheelchair accessible types:

Audienece - you have access to the room

Podium - you have access to the stage

If you select either of these 2 options - the list of available rooms on the left hand side of the screen then filters to match your requirements.

4. Why does a room appear as 'Unavailable'?

A room will appear as 'Unavailble' if the room has already been booked or if the booking is outside of opening hours. If you click on the 'Show Availability' button it will highlight the times in which the room is available to book. 

Resource Booker is a once-off booking system and does not let you see other bookings which is why the room appears as unavailable. You can view up to date timetables on the Web Timetables section.

5. What are 'Location Folders'? And why does it say there a number of rooms available but when I click on the folder there is no room available?

When you use 'Refine search' it filters all rooms to show only the rooms that are available at your preferred time/date. However, the folders remain! The number of rooms that show on the folder refers to the number of centerally booked rooms attached to that folder and not the number of rooms available.
