Alumni Bulletin Spring 2019
Survey – What you said: UCC is fun, friendly and beautiful
Thank you to all of the 5379 alumni who took part in our first UCC all-alumni survey in December and January. Your answers are helping us put together a new alumni programme for UCC.
You told us a lot about you. We had answers from all generations of alumni, from those who were born in the 1930s to those who were born in the mid-90s, and the curve followed the growth in student numbers at UCC.
You told us what three words came to mind when you thought about UCC; fun, friendly and beautiful. And the vast majority of you had a positive or very positive experience at UCC. Half of you live in Cork, a quarter of you live elsewhere in Ireland (mainly Dublin), while the other quarter live overseas, with significant numbers in Boston, New York and London. As you will read about in this newsletter, this has helped us plan a renewal of our chapter programme. Almost half of you have attended a UCC event in the last five years. But we know we have work to do, significant numbers of you did not feel part of the alumni community nor did many of you feel that UCC was interested in you as a former student. We are working hard to change this and will let you know more about how we will be doing so soon.
