Re-engineering Science at UCC - Kane Science Building refurbishment
The Kane Science Building is UCC's main STEM building which was opened in 1971 and sits in the heart of the university's campus. 50% of UCC students take classes in the Kane.
The building needs major refurbishment, both in terms of facilities provided and in terms of the building fabric itself. The ambition of the project is to create a building that will look, feel and function effectively, providing a centre of excellence for science for the next 60 years. Plans have been drawn up for the re-design and some initial works will commence during summer 2019, while other works will be phased over the next few years as funding is sourced. We will keep you updated as work progresses.
